Dillon Taylor

Chief of Staff & Senior Counsel, the Virginia Department of Emergency Management

Dillon Taylor is currently the Chief of Staff & Senior Counsel at the Virginia Department of Emergency Management. Dillon previously worked as an honors attorney with the U.S. Department of Transportation and the National Transportation Safety Board, where he was involved in national and international policy, planning, regulatory, litigation and legislative matters. Dillon obtained his law degree from the University of Richmond, where he is now an adjunct professor of law. Prior to law school, he worked as a professional firefighter assigned to the special operations team focused on large-scale, multi-agency responses. Dillon is a graduate of Harvard's National Preparedness Leadership Initiative, FEMA's Vanguard Executive Crisis Leadership Fellowship, Columbia's Leading with Impact Program, and the Naval Postgraduate School’s Center for Homeland Defense and Security Executive Leaders Program (Ellen Gordon Awardee). Dillon is also a member of the Aspen Institute's Aspen Strategy Group Rising Leaders Program. He volunteers his time as a board member and board advisor with two national organizations. Most importantly, Dillon is a proud husband as well as a father of three incredible kids.
