Speaker Series: Disaster Preparedness and Response panel

This panel will focus on preparedness for events like hurricanes, tornadoes and pandemics. In addition, our panel of distinguished law enforcement professionals will emphasize crisis management and resource allocation during disasters of this nature.

Panelists include Dr. Mark Hoover, who currently serves as the Director of UVA's National Criminal Justice Command College; Claire Connolly Knox, who currently serves as the Program Director of the Master of Emergency and Crisis Management Program at the University of Central Florida; Ariel C. Triplett, who currently serves as the Director of Emergency Management and Safety for Howard University and as an instructor for UVA's Master of Public Safety program; and L. Vance Taylor, who currently serves as the Chief of the Office of Access and Functional Needs at the California Governor's Office of Emergency Services.

This panel will be moderated by Ben Haiman, Executive Director of UVA's Center for Public Safety and Justice.
