Gladis Griffith, JD

Gladis Camilien Griffith is an attorney who has served for over 30 years in federal government Office of Inspectors General (OIG). She helps her clients address fraud, waste and abuse in programs and recommends ways to increase the impact and integrity of federal programs and operations. She is currently the Deputy Inspector General and General Counsel at the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation (DFC), OIG. DFC partners with the private sector to implement U.S. strategic foreign policy goals. Griffith has ensured the effectiveness of federal investigations, audits and other reviews at several federal agencies, including DFC, the U.S. Postal Service, the U.S. Department of State, and the U.S. Agency for International Development Agency. 

Griffith has been an Adjunct Professor with UVA since 2010. Prior to joining UVA, she taught for over 10 years as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Maryland University College Global Campus. She earned her Juris Doctorate from Boston College Law School and is a member of the U.S. Supreme Court and Massachusetts Bar associations. She has been a member of the federal Senior Executive Service for over 23 years. Griffith served as the Vice Chair for the federal Council of Counsels to the Inspectors General (CCIG), a community of over 75 offices of OIG Counsels. She has earned many awards for her expertise, leadership and contributions, including the CCIG's prominent award, its Leadership Award, in 2023. 

In her spare time, Griffith loves to travel and explore new cultures, foods and experiences with family and friends.
